Introduction

This tutorial will guide you through the process of creating a webpage, hosting it, and creating a DNS (Domain Name System) to allow people to view your webpage. This tutorial will NOT work on: Windows XP Home, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, or any non-Microsoft operating system. IIS (Internet Information Services) is a Windows utility allowing other users to view files (usually html files) in a specified directory of your computer (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\). Don't worry if that folder isn't there, it shouldn't be, and if it IS you have IIS installed already. If your worried about security, I assure you, IIS, and port 80 for that matter, have strict regulations disallowing any INCOMING information. IIS CANNOT share files anywhere on your computer ACCEPT for the 'wwwroot' directory! For more information on IIS, consult Wikipedia.
